Internships

Responsibilities

Are you passionate about improving the lives of refugees and keen to obtain significant experience in the charity sector? Our internship program at IOESS provides a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in meaningful work that directly benefits those in need. As an intern, you will work alongside a committed team to create and implement programs that empower refugees through education and social services. This hands-on experience will not only improve your professional abilities but also give you a better understanding of the problems and triumphs that refugee communities encounter.

- Work with team members to plan and implement ESL programs, job search workshops, and college preparation sessions.

- Help organize community events and outreach initiatives to increase awareness and support for our purpose.

- Conduct research and gather resources to increase program efficacy and reach.

- Offer administrative support, such as data input, scheduling, and communication with program participants.

- Prepare and deliver presentations on a variety of themes related to our services and the refugee population.

Responsibilities

Volunteering

Make a difference by volunteering with IOESS, where your time and effort can dramatically improve the lives of refugees seeking for a better future. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to interact directly with individuals and families, providing them with the resources and assistance they require to effectively resettle and prosper in the United States. Whether you have a few hours available each week or can commit to a more consistent schedule, your participation will be critical in assisting refugees in navigating the complexity of their new environment.

- Teach refugees English, either one-on-one or in groups.

- Help with the college application process, including essay preparation, financial aid applications, and campus tours.

- Help job searchers create resumes, prepare for interviews, and look for jobs.

- Offer advice and assistance in preparation for the driving knowledge test, which includes study sessions and practice exams.

- Take part in community outreach initiatives to recruit new volunteers and create awareness about our programs.

“Helping some truly amazing young people achieve their dreams for college has been one of the most rewarding things I've done in my life.”
